100 holes in 9 hours for Charity

100 holes of Golf and over $3000 raised

First and foremost, I want to thank all the members who gave money for us to go out and play golf for Charity.  Between the members and the money raised by the high schools golfers, we will collect more than $3,000 to donate.  That is well worth playing the 100 holes.  Also, thank you to the members that came out throughout the day to support us.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who played, Jim and the five young men from Peninsula High School Golf Team.  Two of the young guys played 45 holes and another young man played 50. Adam Barker and Charlie Peckinpaugh, who are also members at Canterwood, knocked out all 100 holes.  This was a big commitment considering none of us have ever played more than 50 holes and we had to average 5 minutes and 30 seconds per hole without taking the carts off the path to get all 100 holes in.  It took all 9 hours on the nose.  We started when it there was barely light and finished about the same way.

What a crazy long day, I must say at the end we were all a little slap happy and water-logged but it was a lot of fun.

If there is a next time, we will choose a day that has at least 12 hours of daylight and hopefully be able to go 90 degrees with the carts.  Regardless, it was for a good cause.

Thank you all again for your support!!!

Wes Hart - Hole in One

Congratulations to Wes Hart
for hitting his first Hole in One,
on Thursday, October, 18.

He hit it on #7 from 155 yards with an 8-iron.  He flew it directly into the cup, no bounces, that is pretty cool.
Also, you can see Wes proudly sporting his San Francisco Giants hat since they are in the World Series.  We will probably be seeing a lot more of it if they win the whole thing.
Great shot Wes!
